Meet Dr. Chikara Saunders-Fiddermon

Dr. Chikara Saunders-Fiddermon

Dr. Saunders-Fiddermon ia a pediatric dentist and educator.  Born and raised in Freeport, Bahamas she received her bachelor's degree in Biology from Saint Leo University in St. Leo, Fl.  She then returned to the Bahamas where she taught Health Science, General Science and Biology at Grand Bahama Catholic High School her former alma mater.  After a few years she decided to switch careers to become a dentist.  She went on to attend Howard University College of Dentistry.  During her time there she was active in student government having served as secretary and treasurer of her class.  She graduated there in 2010.  After completing dental school, she moved to New York to complete a general practice residency at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center, where she served a second year as a chief resident.

Education and Continuing Education

Upon completing her residency Dr. Saunders-Fiddermon worked as a general dentist in Southern New Jersey.  While working she completed a certificate in medical education for healthcare providers from the University of Cincinnati.  Realizing her continued passion to work with children she decided to return to Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center to complete a two-year residency in pediatric dentistry.

Dr. Saunders-Fiddermon is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and is committed to dental education.

Outside the Office

In her spare time, she enjoys traveling with her husband, spending time with family and friends, taking craft classes and is trying to develop a green thumb.

Dr. Saunders-Fiddermon has always had a passion to work with children and believes every child should enjoy their dental visits.  She wants to educate parents and patients while delivering treatment in a safe and fun environment.
